EXCURSION DESCRIPTION

Discover the authentic flavours and traditions of Istria on this unique experience combining culture,
gastronomy and hands-on activities.
The excursion begins with a visit to Hum, officially recognized as the smallest town in the world. Guests can stroll through its charming stone streets, admire traditional houses and learn about the town’s rich Glagolitic heritage.
After exploring Hum, the experience continues with a welcome drink of two traditional homemade Istrian brandies and an introduction to the world of truffles. Guests learn about different types of truffles, how they grow, and where they can be found, with a focus on the Mirna River Valley – the most famous truffle region in Croatia.
The highlight of the excursion is an authentic truffle hunting experience in a private forest with trained dogs. Participants actively take part in the search and learn about this prized delicacy directly in its natural environment.
The experience concludes with a truffle-based tasting including homemade cheeses with truffles, Istrian salami with truffles, and canapés with truffle spreads, complemented by extra virgin olive oil and white truffle balsamic. A special highlight is the interactive preparation of scrambled eggs with fresh truffles.
Dessert includes vanilla ice cream with white truffle honey.
Drinks are included throughout the experience (homemade wine, juices, brandies and water).

13:30 – Start of the tour & drive to the small town of Hum
Arrival in Hum and free time for exploration
Welcome drink and introduction to truffles
15:00 – Truffle hunting experience (approx. 3 hours)
After the hunt – Truffle tasting and interactive preparation of scrambled eggs with fresh truffles
17:30 – End of the tour and return to the starting point
